Finishing nails have a very small head in comparison with the wire diameter, a lost or bullet head.
They are used where the nail head is supposed to disappear completely into the material or in case larger nail head of round wire nail would be visually unappealing. Examples are attachments of cladding floor boards, floor strips, decoration strips or as a spandrel pin for shoemakers.
Finishing nails are not suitable for machine processing or nail guns.
